Sam Robbins: Sam Robbins describes himself as an "old soul singer songwriter." A Nashville based musician whose music evokes classic singer songwriters like James Taylor and Jackson Browne, Sam adds a modern, upbeat edge to the storyteller troubadour persona. An avid performer, he has gained recognition from extensive touring and as the first artist to perform a Jim Croce song on NBC's The Voice.
A multi-instrumentalist from a young age, Sam began learning drums and piano, falling in love with guitar at age 13. He then started writing original music, recording his first EP during his sophomore year of high school, while playing open mics in his hometown of Portsmouth, NH.
Over the past 4 years, Sam has performed over 700 shows across the country. These have included dive bars, biker bars, weddings, proposals, frat parties, house concerts, and everything in between. Since these humble beginnings, Sam has been able to tour full time at venues such as the Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH, Boston City Winery, Eddies Attic, The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Nashville, Blue Ocean Music Hall, Tupelo Music Hall, One Longfellow Square and many other venues and intimate listening rooms. Following the release of his single "Addicted" in early 2019, Sam headlined a sold out show at the 200 seat 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, NH.
Since moving to Nashville in September 2019 following his graduation from Berklee College of Music, Sam has made a splash in music city - performing at the Bluebird Cafe within a month of moving, and sitting in again at the legendary venue with Liz Longley in February. Sam was the audience winner of the "Nashville Rising Song" qualifier event in September, and has been writing, playing and recording full time while making headway through Nashville.
In 2018, Sam was able to audition on NBC's The Voice for Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Jennifer Hudson. He was the first artist to ever perform a Jim Croce song on the show, and was selected by Kelsea Ballerini to be one of six artists in The Voice's first ever "Comeback Stage".
He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2019, where he has been able to collaborate and write with renowned teachers and songwriters. In 2018, Sam was awarded the most prestigious songwriting scholarship at Berklee, the Pat Pattison Songwriting Award.
Sam is releasing his debut album in May 2021.
